A naturally translucent material with excellent moisture resistance is polypropylene (PP). Due to its high temperature stability (up to 200°F), polypropylene can be used in hot fill applications like pancake syrup. Additionally, it does a great job of maintaining the flavor and freshness of dried foods, making it the perfect option for preserving flour, dried fruit, or spices. Additionally, polypropylene has the potential for steam sterilization and is autoclavable (it can withstand a powerful, pressurized, heated vessel for the purpose of sterilization). Although PP has excellent chemical resistance, it has poor impact resistance when it is cold.
